Each issue of FORUM centers a theme relevant to the OU student community. March’s issue, “Greek life at OU” will focus on OU community members’ perspectives and experiences with Greek organizations. Specifically, we are interested in conversations about the expectations placed on members of Greek life. What kind of stereotypes do members of Greek organizations face at OU? Do sororities face stricter rules and harsher scrutiny than fraternities? We also encourage discussion about non-normative sororities and fraternities. What disparities exist between multicultural Greek organizations and in-house organizations?
Finally, we encourage submissions that focus on difficult topics of hazing, sexual assault, LGBTQ+ negativity, racism, OU’s history with SAE, and discrimination.
As always, we are happy to accept anonymous submissions. Contact email@example.com for more information.
Submission Deadline: March 27th, 11:50pm.
Submissions should focus on:
OU activism – Do you know of any professors who are sparking powerful conversations within their classrooms regarding this issue? What student groups are actively engaging in these discussions?
OU experiences and perspectives – What is your experience with Greek life and culture in and around the OU community?
